PlayStation Plus free games of May for PS4, PS3 and Vita announced

PlayStation Plus free games of May for PS4, PS3 and Vita announced

This story has been updated to reflect the PlayStation Plus games for the US.

Sony has revealed a preview of the free games PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to download to their Sony systems this May. These games will replace some of the April PlayStation Plus deals, so you’ll want to download those now while they’re still free. But it’s also important to keep in mind that you can add these games to your account through the Sony store even if you don’t currently own a system; it’s a good way to start padding out your library now if you plan on possibly making a future investment in a Vita or PS4.

For PS3

Puppeteer — a platformer made by SCE Japan Studio and released last September.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 (US ONLY) — The US gets the digital version of the biggest sport in the world, which was available last month for the EU.

Skullgirls Encore (US ONLY) — an update of the popular 2D fighter with “new systems, new stages and music, balance adjustments, gameplay tweaks and more.”

Payday 2 (EU ONLY) — First-person shooter that, much like its Heat-inspired predecessor, lets players play through a variety of heists, ranging from convenience stores to banks.

For PS Vita

Limbo (US ONLY)– a stark, dark indie platformer

Surge Deluxe (US ONLY) — An electricity-themed block-matching puzzle game.

Muramasa Rebirth (EU ONLY) — the Vita port of Vanillaware’s gorgeous Wii action-RPG, Muramasa: The Demon Blade.

Everybody’s Golf (EU ONLY) — Better known as Hot Shots Golf in North America.

For PS4

Stick it to the Man — Originally released on PlayStation 3 and Vita last year, the platforming-adventure game is being brought to PS4 later this month in Europe and early May in North America. It will not be available as a cross-buy title with the PS3 and Vita versions.

How does the free game line-up look? Are you happy with your available choices, or was there something else you were really hoping to get for free this month? Let us know in the comments below.
