“Attack on Titan” Manga 13th Volume Gets 2.75 Million First Print Run

“Attack on Titan” Manga 13th Volume Gets 2.75 Million First Print Run

It is officially confirmed today on April 7 that the latest/13th volume of Hajime Isayama’s Attack on Titan manga, which is scheduled to be released in Japan on April 9, has 2.75 million copies for its first print run, easily breaking the previous record of the 12th volume’s 2.2 million last December. The number is 68.75 times more than the first volume’s first printing in March 2010 (40,000 copies). It is also a new first print run record for the publisher of the manga, Kodansha. The previous record holder was the eighth volume of Kazuhiro Kiuchi’s Be-Bop High School, which was released 26 years ago in 1987. The total print of the manga series in Japan has reached an amazing 36 million. There is no doubt that the upcoming compilation anime films and live-action film will push the sales more strongly.
