Acclaimed Comic Author Examines “Cosplay” Culture

This week, respected North American comic publisher Fantagraphics released acclaimed author/animator Dash Shaw’s (Bottomless Belly Button, Sigur Ros short film, “Seraph”) comic one-shot Cosplay. The 32 page color book, now available at comic shops and digital platforms such as Comixology, follows a pair on teen cosplayers with too much time on their hands and the impulse to make a film with themselves, unsuspecting extras and a hidden camera.
