"Free!" Banner At Winter Comiket Keeps The Summer Theme Alive

Winter Comiket closed just before the new year in Japan and in the middle of winter, the boys from Free! were still in swimsuits to meet fans expectations. The large banners on display at the Comiket venue often hold New Year's messages or other bits of information, but the Free! banner with the image of Haruka surrounded by Makoto, Rin, Nagisa and Rei extending his hand towards the participants said "Happy New Summer!" instead of Happy New Year.

Look at Rin's natural smile in the banner!

The Comiket-exclusive Free! set included a set of Animation Director Correction Art books (Side A and Side B), an original design porch, the Official Character reference book and the Creator's Message book. The last two items will be avilable for sale after Comiket.

An illustration of Rin that says "That boy is a cute little returning student from abroad" by animator Shinpei Sawa is a parody of the Tamako Market image below that says "That girl is a cute little daughter of the Mochi shop". This is taken from the Creators Message Book.
