Otaku Idol Shokotan Voices Heroine of "Transformers: Age of Extinction"

Though the film doesn't open in Japan until August 8th, otaku TV personality/voice actor/idol singer Shoko "Shokotan" Nakagawa has been introduced as the Japanese voice of Nicola Peltz's Tessa Yeager in the live-action Transformers: Age of Extinction. This character is the daughter of Mark Wahlberg's inventor/single father Cade Yeager.

As well as small and supporting roles such as Yogen-gyo in Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, Shokotan previously substituted for Mandy Moore as Rapunzel in the Japanese dub of Tangled. Last year, she also got her own live-action starring role in Noboru Iguchi's Gothic Lolita Battle Bear.

Ken Watanabe has a role as the English voice of Drift, but Shokotan is so far the only confirmed Japanese cast member.

The movie opens in the US June 27th.
