June is a busy month for the now 25-year-old Ghost in the Shell franchise. The Arise prequel anime series continues with "border:3 Ghost Tears" hitting Japanese theaters on June 28. To promote this, the first nine minutes have been streamed online.
Sean Lennon contributes to the end theme "Heart Grenade" with Tatsuhisa Suzuki, Aya Hisakawa and Ai Kayano joining the cast as new characters, and Shunsuke Sakuya assuming the role of Ishikawa following Tomoyuki Dan's passing last year.

Meanwhile, Anime Project Channel 5.5, energy supplement Calorie Mate and Eagle Talon's Frogman have continued their spoof with more episodes. Though Maaya Sakamoto voices the famous cyborg Motoko Kusanagi in the Arise OVA, Sumire Uesaka stars in the parody.
On the manga side, new Stand Alone Complex - Tachikoma na Hibi, he Laughing Man and Nemuranai Me no Otoko - Sleepless Eye have been released.
