March's 35th Gundam anniversary project announcements included the news that creator Yoshiyuki Tomino's space elevator project G-Reco debuts this falls as Gundam Reconguista in G. Set in the next century of the Universal calendar, the anime will feature Kenichi Yoshida on character design, joined by a team that includes Akira Yasuda, Ippei Gyoubu, and Kimitoshi Yamane on mecha and Yuugo Kanno.
This week, g-reco.net/ kicked off a countdown to 2014/06/23 10:00:00, and in the meantime, "Kill 'em All" Tomino has done an interview with Anime-Busience. While the format of the anime still hasn't been nailed down, what's been prompting mecha fan chatter is Tomino's mention of two cour scope needed to do the project right. The assumption is now being made that it will be a TV series.
