Cross-Dressing TV Anime "Himegoto" Set for July 7

It is confirmed today that the upcoming TV anime adaptation of Norio Tsukudani's cross dressing-themed comedy manga Himegoto will premiere on satellite broadcasting station BS11 on July 7, then streamed on Nico Nico Douga on the following day. The official site for the anime also announced five additional voice cast in addition to the previously announced main four.

The manga first published in Ichijinsha's Otokonoko (men who cross-dress as women)-themed magazine Waai! from 2011 to early 2014. After the magazine stopped its publication, it has been serialized in the publisher's Monthly Comic REX. Currently two tankobon volumes are available in Japan. The story centers on a second grade high school student boy Hime Arikawa. He is forced to spend his high school life dressing up as a girl by the members of the student council who assume his parents' debt, and he has to serve them as their "dog."

Asahi Production (Super Robot Wars Original Generation: The Inspector) animates the series, and

Takeyuki Yanase, who has been working in the industry since the mid-1990s as an episode

director/animation director, finally makes his series director debut. I MY ME MINE, a newly-formed voice

actress unit by Yuuki Kuwahara, Yuka Matenrou, Saki Ono, and Hisako Tojo, performs the OP song

"Troublemaker" and ED song "Makeup!." The CD single was already released in Japan on March 5.
