The English and Japanese editions of Shonen Jump have announced that the magazine's sci-fi action comedy World Trigger is set to be adapted into a TV anime series.

North American publisher Viz describes the series:
Teenage geek Osamu may not be the best of the elite warriors protecting Earth from the invincible Neighbors, but he'll do whatever it takes to defend it from the monsters pouring through the mysterious inter dimensional portal! Together with his peculiar Neighbor friend Yuma, they'll use other-dimensional technology to take on the alien invaders!
Volume 6 of Daisuke Ashihara's 2013 manga will be released in Japan on June 4th.
There's no indication as to whether they'll repeat the roles in the anime, but a vomic (voice comic) featured the cast:
Yuma Kuga - Junko Minagawa
Osamu Mikumo - Ryota Osaka
Replica - Yuichi Iguchi
Yuichi Jin - Toshiki Masuda
The announcement comes a few days after fans were celebrating Osamu Mikumo's birthday.
