TV Tokyo's official site for the upcoming TV anime Pri-Para, which is based on Takara Tomy Arts' new arcade game of the same name, launches today on May 9 with a new key visual featuring the three main characters: Laala Manaka, Sophie Houjo, and Mirei Minami. They are voiced by the members of anison vocal idol unit i☆Ris. 19-year-old Himika Akaneya voices the protagonist Laala with Miyu Kubota as Sophie and Yu serizawa as Mirei. The unit also sings the OP theme, while four-member girls dance/vocal group Prizmmy☆ performs the ED.
Pri-Para is said to take over the theme of the Pretty Rhythm series, which was also based on TTA's arcade game. Laala has already appeared in the 2014 March film Pretty Rhythm All Star Selection: Prism Show Best 10 and the on-going TV series Pretty Rhythm All Star Selection. The TV anime is produced by Tatsunoko Production and Dongwoo A&E. Makoto Moriwaki, a female veteran who worked
on Onegai My Melody (2005-2006), Tantei Opera Milky Holmes (2010), Jewelpet Kira Deco! (2012-2013),
serves as the director. Michihiro Tsuchiya (Wagamama Fairy: Mirumo de Pon!, MAJOR) works on series
composition. Shoji Hara (Wandaba Style, Sasami: Magical Girls Club) designs the anime characters.
Pri-Para will premiere on TV Tokyo and its affiliates on July 5.
