To promote The Next Generation -Patlabor- live-action film series, Cinema Today has posted two clips from its third chapter, which consisted of the fourth episode "Norainutachi no Gogo" (Stray Dog Day Afternoon) and the fifth "Daikaiju Arawaru - Zenpen" (Giant monster rises - The first part) on YouTube. The chapter was released in Japan on July 12 and already finished its limited two-week theatrical run last Friday.
The fourth episode tells a hostage situation in a convenience store by terrorists involving the two members of Special Vehicle Section 2, Akira and Yuuma. The fifth episode is directed by Mamoru Oshii himself, having a lot of homage to the past tokusatsu films in the Showa era. The story of the Kaiju episode is set in Atami-city, Shizuoka Prefecture, where Oshii lives now.
