Avex Pictures has posted a full version promotional video for four-member Japanese rock band BACKDRAFT SMITHS' latest song "Candle Flames" on its official YouTube channel. The English lyrics song is featured in the currently-showing Shin Gekijo-ban Initial D: Legend 1-Kakusei (Awakening)-, the first chapter of the new trilogy anime film project based on Shuichi Shigeno's super popular car-racing manga, along with another new song "We’ll start our race."
The band was originally formed as "HI-GOD VOICE" back in 2006. Then they changed their name to "BACKDRAFT SMITHS" and released their major debut single "I Wish" (TV anime Battle Spirits: Saikyou Ginga Ultimate Zero 1st OP song) in December 2013.
The first chapter Initial D: Legend 1-Kakusei was released simultaneously in Japan (30 screens) and
Taiwan on August 23. It debuted at 11th in Japan's weekend box office earning 32,925,680 yen with 25,537
tickets. The second chapter titled Shin Gekijo-ban Initial D: Legend 2-Tousou-("闘走 Tousou" literally means
Battle Run) is scheduled to open in Japan in early summer of 2015.
