It was also announced at Hana to Yume Anime Fes yesterday that the upcoming TV anime adaptation of Mizuho Kusanagi's fantasy shoujo manga Akatsuki no Yona (Yona of the Dawn) will be a 2-cour show (with 25 or 26 episodes). One cour is a three-month unit of television broadcasting, so the show will last till next March. The news was revealed by voice actress Chiwa Saito, who plays the protagonist Princess Yona.
The event hosted an advance screening of the first two episodes with a talk show by the three main voice cast: Chiwa Saito (Yona), Tomoaki Maeno (Son Hak), and Yuusuke Kobayashi (Soo-won). The TV anime will premiere on six stations in Japan on October 7: AT-X (23:00~), Tokyo MX (24:30~),
Sun TV (24:30~), TV Aichi (25:35~), RKK Kimamoto Housou (26:13~), and BS11 (27:00~), then will
also be available on NTT's streaming service Docomo Anime Store (dAnime Store). Kazuhiro Yoneda,
who previously worked for Aquarion EVOL and Tiger & Bunny: The Rising, makes his TV anime series
directorial debut for Pierrot (Naruto, Sabagebu!)
