Reluctant Heroes Rise In "Mahojin Guru Guru" Preview Video

A new trailer is now available online for Mahojin Guru Guru, aka Magical Circle, an upcoming TV anime that features animation from Production I.G and that is based on the fantasy gag manga by Hiroyuki Eto.

The story of Mahojin Guru Guru spoofs the conventions of Japanese RPGs through the adventures of Nike, an ordinary boy whose hero-worshipping parents are convinced he's the next legendary hero. After being forced to set off on a dangerous adventure, Nike meets Kukuri, a kind-hearted but naive girl who is the heir to the magical power of "Guru Guru". Together, Nike and Kukuri undertake a quest to defeat the villainous Lord Giri.

The original Mahojin Guru Guru manga was serialized from 1992 - 2003 in Square Enix's Monthly Shōnen Gangan magazine. The sequel manga, Mahojin Guru Guru 2, is currently serialized in Square Enix's Gangan Online digital manga magazine. Mahojin Guru Guru was previously adapted into a 45 episode TV anime in 1994 - 1995 and a 38 episode sequel series in 2000.
