This week saw reports of developer Dingo going bankrupt, and those turned out to be true. Dingo worked on many titles over the years, including Persona 4: Dancing All Night, the Love Live! School Idol Paradise series, Photo Kano, Reco Love, and earlier entries of the Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA series. Fans were no doubt concerned about the fate of some of their ongoing properties, so Kadokawa Games swooped in to reassure those looking forward to future Photo Kano and Reco Love games.
Over on the Reco Love Twitter account, Kadokawa Games' producer Ichiro Sugiyama shared disappointment in the shuttering of Dingo. He followed that up with, "As for the copyright of Photo Kano and Reco Love, they're all under Kadokawa. Therefore, you have no worries about their future. Please look forward to it."
Sugiyama is now working on writing the scenario for Reco Love DLC.
Dingo's official file for bankruptcy comes after accruing a debt of ¥340 million ($3 million+). Before it was on the record, word came out via 2chan rumors, including someone claiming to be a former Dingo employee. Whether that checks out or not, they echoed the now official numbers and cited Reco Love's failure as the "death blow."
