It is also confirmed that Shinobu Nagumo, one of the main characters from the original manga/anime series, will appear in the upcoming 12th episode "Ooinaru Isan" in the last/7th chapter of The Next Generation -Patlabor- live-action film series. A scene photo of her silhouette has been posted. The actress portraying her is unknown.
She is the third character from the original series following Shigeo Shiba, and Yukihito Tsuge who was the antagonist in the 1993 anime film Patlabor 2. As reported, the 12th episode will be told as a sequel to the film, and Tsuge will show up to meet Keiji Gotouda, the current captain of the Division 2.
According to the narration by Shiba in the episode 0, she resigned from the Metropolitan Police Department after the story of the original series, then has worked in a United Nation organization UNRAR
（The UN Relief Agency for Refugees). The photo features her reading a letter in a place assumed to be a
battlefield somewhere.
The 7th chapter which contains the 12th episode directed by Mamoru Oshii, with the highlights of the previous
episodes, is scheduled to be screened at selected Japanese theaters for limited time of two weeks from
January 10, 2015.
