Hiroaki Matsuura, president of CG animation production studio Sanjigen, tweeted today on January 18 that the production of the compilation film Arpeggio of Blue Steel -Ars Nova- DC is completed, only 13 days before the general release in Japan. He also says that the visuals of the film are overwhelming, though the actual production period was only two months.
The film basically compiles the 12 episodes of the TV anime series aired in Japan from October to December in 2013. According to the anime's official Twitter, while the total running time of the film is 105 minutes, 40 minutes of it are newly-animated footage featuring the five mental models: Hiei, Nachi, Ashigara, Haguro and Myoukou.
The compilation film DC hits Japanese theaters on January 31, then the all-new second film is planned
to be released at some point of this year.
