Funassyi to Make His Film Debut in “HappinessCharge PreCure” This Fall



It is officially announced today on August 11 that Funassyi, one of the most famous Japanese local mascot characters in Funabashi-city, Chiba Prefecture, will be making his anime feature film debut in the upcoming HappinessCharge PreCure! Ningyou no Kuni no Ballerina (The ballerina in the doll kingdom) this October. He already made his voice actor debut in the 3-minute short TV anime series Nyuru Nyuru!! Kakusen-kun in 2013.



Funassyi, designed as a pear fairy who appears once in 2,000 years, won the 2013 Local Character General Election promoted by the Japan Department Store Association in August 2013. Since then, he has been very famous for his powerful and weird movements, appearing various media including the popular variety shows Sukkiri! and SMAPxSMAP. He even released his first solo single “Funa Funa Funassyi♪” in November 2013, which was produced by by The Alfee’s acclaimed rock guitarist Toshihiko

Funassyi will appear as himself in the highly-anticipated feature film version of the on-going TV anime


HappinessCharge PreCure!. The film opens in Japan on October 11.
