Champion Red Ichigo Manga Magazine to End Publication












Some of its manga will continue in new web magazine in late October





The 45th issue of Akita Shoten‘s Champion RED Ichigo magazine is announcing on Tuesday that the magazine will end publication with no further issues. Akita Shoten will launch a new web magazine in late October to continue some of Champion RED Ichigo‘s manga series.


The upcoming web magazine will run Megumu Okada and Masami Kurumada‘s Saint Seiya Episode.G. – Assassin manga, Ryūsei Shidō and Kenetsu Satou‘s Dai Nippon Samurai Girl, Shū Hirose and Eiji Narumi’s Le Fruit de la Grisaia – Sanctuary Fellows, the tentatively titled Kyochū Rettō (Giant Insect Islands) by RED ICE and Yasutaka Fujimi, and works by Juzo Tokoro, Takehito Mizuki, tenkla, Hideaki Yoshikawa, and KAKERU.


Akita Shoten launched Champion RED Ichigo as a spinoff of its Champion RED magazine in 2006. The publication became a regular magazine, published every other month, in 2007.


Shinoshokan’s yuri magazine Pure Yuri Anthology Hirari, Mag Garden‘s Monthly Comic Blade magazine, and Shogakukan‘s Monthly Ikki magazine all announced that they would cease publication within the last month. Monthly Comic Blade is being replaced with Comic Garden magazine.
