Extended by another half year after premiering in October 2013
This year’s combined 36th/37th issue of Kodansha‘s Weekly Shōnen Magazine is announcing on Wednesday that the Ace of Diamond television anime has been extended by another two cours or half a year. The series was initially planned to end after one year this fall, but will now end in March 2015. The additional episodes will depict the main characters’ battle with their Inajitsu rivals.
Madhouse and Production I.G are producing the baseball series. The story follows Eijun Sawamura (Ryota Ohsaka), a pitcher who joins an elite school with a brilliant catcher named Kazuya Miyuki (Takahiro Sakurai). Together with the rest of the team, they strive for Japan’s storied Kōshien championships through hard work and determination.
The anime premiered in Japan last October, and Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs in Japan.
