Top 10 Selling Xbox One Games (2014 Update) – Titanfall, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Forza Motorsport 5



Welcome to the ‘Top 10′ weekly feature. Each week we will be taking a look at the top 10 selling games in a particular genre, platform, most recent month, even sprinkling in the top 10 selling games from a past year. All sales specified will be worldwide, unless stated otherwise. If there is a particular top 10 you want to see leave a comment and it may be featured in a future top 10. As a note all sales figures are retail only.


This week we will be taking a look at the top 10 selling Xbox One games (2014 update). Last week we looked at the top 10 selling Wii U games (2014 update), and the week before that the top 10 selling PlayStation Vita games (2014 update).




Looking at the top 10 selling Xbox One games (2014 update through June 28), eight games were released in 2013 and two in 2014. The eight games released in 2013 were all launch titles.


The top 10 selling Xbox One games have sold 11.86 million units. The top selling game, Titanfall, has sold just under two million units. The top five titles sold more than one million units, while the entire top 10 has sold more than 500,000 units.


When you break it down by publisher there are three first party titles and seven third party titles. Of the third party titles three of them are published by Electronic Arts, two by Ubisoft, one by Activision, and one by Take-Two.


The three Microsoft titles sold a combined 3.35 million units or 28.25 percent of the total games sold in the top 10. The three Electronic Arts titles sold 4.27 million units or 36.00 percent of the total games sold in the top 10. The two Ubisoft titles sold 1.79 million units or 15.09 percent of the total games sold in the top 10.

When you break you look at the top 10 selling Xbox One games as a graph, it shows how two games have sold more than the rest. Also three of the top four games are FPS’s. However, those are the only FPS’s in the top 10.


Side note: There have been 1.75 million Xbox One’s sold in 2014 through June 28. The Xbox One has sold 4.76 million units lifetime. There have also been 8.08 million games sold in 2014. There have been 15.84 million games sold lifetime.


Broken down by publisher Electronic Arts has sold the most games for the Xbox One with 5.72 million games sold. Microsoft has sold 3.63 million games, Ubisoft 2.22 million games, and Activision 2.10 million games.
