The Mysterious Murasame Castle was originally released for Nintendo’s Famicom Disk System (an add-on to the Japanese version of the NES) in 1986, but it’s just now making its way to North America. Nintendo announced the game during San Diego Comic-Con, and will be bringing it to the 3DS Virtual Console on August 7.
That’s not all the excitement coming up for the Zelda-like game, though. The protagonist, Takamaru, is making his way into the upcoming Wii U and 3DS Super Smash Bros.game as an Assist Trophy. Here’s a look at him in action below, along with director Masahiro Sakurai’s Miiverse commentary.
Pic of the day. I, Takamaru, have waited many years to appear in Super Smash Bros.! Link, Samus, Pit, and I debuted in the same year! Multidirectional Pinwheel Knife Rook Attack!! (FYI, I’m an Assist Trophy.)
