Kazuhiro Fujita's "Moonlight Act" Manga Gets Stage Play Next Month

Following the two successful Karakuri Circus plays in 2012, Tokyo-based theatrical company Capsule Heidan/Kapsel Corps is now working on a new stage play based on Kazuhiro Fujita's another famous manga series, Gekkou Jourei/Moonlight Act for next month. The company was founded by Naoyuki Yoshihisa in 1998 and has produced several stage play adaptations of popular manga/anime series including Mamoru Oshii's Gosenzosama Banbanzai! (1998), Kazuhiko Shimamoto's Gyakkyo Nine (2001), and Masakazu Katsura's DNA² (2004).

The first chapter of the Karakuri Circus plays, "Karakuri-hen" was performed at Sasazuka Factory, Tokyo, in February 2012, and all of the tickets were sold out. The second chapter "Circus-hen" soon followed in November of the same year.

The Gekkou Jourei/Moonlight Act stage play is scheduled to be performed at Sasazuka Factory from

November 13 to 24. The advance tickets will go on sale on October 19. The manga was serialized in

Shogakukan's Shoen Sunday from March 2008 to April 2014, then compiled in 29 tankobon volumes.

It is Fujita's third longest manga series after Karakuri Circus (43 volumes, 1997-2006) and Ushio to Tora

(33 volumes, 1990-1996).
