The Gundam 35th anniversary project has launched some big plans for the next year. Previously announced, Gundam Unicorn wraps up this spring with the 90-minute seventh and final episode hitting Japanese theaters for a limited run May 17th before a June 6th home video release.
But, then, some long awaited projects are finally coming!
Series creator Yoshiyuki Tomino's space elevator project G-Reko debuts this falls as Gundam Reconguista in G. Set in the next century of the Universal calendar, the anime will feature Kenichi Yoshida on character design, joined by a team that includes Akira Yasuda, Ippei Gyoubu, and Kimitoshi Yamane on mecha and Yuugo Kanno.
Then, a four part adaptation of Yoshikazu Yasuhiko's Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin manga kicks off in spring 2015 with "Blued Eyed Casval."
In other plans, new 1/1 scale Real Gundam work is should be completed for 2019, with details slated to be announced next month.
Yasutaka Nakata, who has worked with Perfume and Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, is attached to an anniversary theme song.
