Bones and director Soichi Masui will be returning to the work of Scrapped Princess author Sakaki Ichirou for the spring's Hitsugime no Chaika (Coffin Princess Chaika) anime. Lucky Star's Touko Machida will be writing with animator Nobuhiro Arai on character designs. The 2010 series, illustrated by Ookuma Nekosuke, has already been adapted into a manga by Sakayama Shinta, as well as having a 4-panel spin-off.
Thee OP song "DARAKENA" is sung by 28-year-old anime voice actress/singer Iori Nomizu, who also voices Vivi Holopainen in the anime. The song will be released as her fifth single on April 23.
