Momoiro Clover Z's Ayaka Sasaki Voices Athena in "Saint Seiya" CG Film

It is officially revealed today on March 13 that 17-year-old Ayaka Sasaki (nicknamed as Aarin), a member of the female idol group Momoiro Clover Z, voices Saori Kido/Athena, the main heroine of the upcoming full CG film Saint Seiya: LEGEND of SANCTUARY. The character was previously played by Keiko Han (the TV anime series in 1986-1989), Fumiko Orikasa (the OVA series Hades-hen in 2003-2008), and Shoko Nakagawa (the on-going TV series Saint Seiya Omega).

Sasaki had an experience of voice acting in a 5-minute short anime series Kayoe! Chugaku as herself with other members of Momoiro Clover Z in the past, and this is her film debut as a voice actress for a main character. The CG film adaptation of Masami Kurumada's popular manga series directed by Keiichi Sato (Tiger & Bunny, Asura) will be released in Japan on June 21.
