"Hatena Illusion" Magics Its Way onto TV Screens

The unfinished light novel series Hatena Illusion will be seeing some form of closure -- in the form of an anime.

The series was penned by writer Tomohiro Matsu (Mayoi Neko Overrun!, Listen to Me, Girls. I Am Your Father!) and illustrated by Mayoi Neko Overrun! collaborator Kentaro Yabuki (Black Cat). Sadly, Matsu passed away due to liver cancer in May of last year, leaving the series unfinished.

The series focused on Makoto, who has just been reunited with his school friend Hatena after traveling to Tokyo to seek education from her magician father. However, once he arrives at the haunted house where the family lives, he discovers that he and Hatena no longer get along.

An anime adaptation has been announced via the ad above. No staff or cast is attached yet.
