When Microsoft first announced their ID@Xbox programme, shortly after the Xbox One’s announcement, they also announced that any Xbox One bought at retail would be capable of being a development kit at the click of a button. A year later, this functionality is still yet to come to fruition.
At Develop conference on Tuesday, I attended a presentation where Chris Charla reaffirmed the company’s stance that the functionality is still coming to the Xbox One, but “isn’t there yet”. No date was given for when this functionality would appear, but it seems Microsoft haven’t gone back on their word just yet.
