About BOOM BOOM SATELLITES

The rock band, consisting of Masayuki Nakano and Michiyuki Kawashima, had their big break when they debuted in Europe in 1997. They have been incorporating elements of both electronic music and rock to create music unlike any before, and thus they have earned their position among the best Japanese creative talents. Their European release of a 12-inch single marks a turning point. The European music magazine, Melody Maker, compared the impact of their debut to those of The Chemical Brothers and The Prodigy, and the record was highly praised by the media. In 1998, they performed at a major European rock festival and toured with Underworld in Europe, triumphantly returning to Japan. In October of the same year, they released their first album OUT LOUD. They then turned to America, touring with Moby for three months. Following their American tour, they worked vigorously, releasing the albums UMBRA and PHOTON. In 2004, they produced the music for the hit movie APPLESEED, achieving further success. Including Glastonberry in the UK, they regularly perform at festivals both domestically and abroad, and they have headlined the FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL. They have enjoyed immense popularity as creators and artists since their debut, and they are bombarded with endless offers for compositions and remixes.
