Battleship Kongou Featured in Latest "KanColle" Anime Visual

There's been little in the way of newly announced concrete plans for the anime adaptation of historical warship girl browser-game phenomenon KanColle, but Comptiq has published a visual of its take on the Super Dreadnought Battleship, Kongo indestructible mountain who lent her name to the class of battleship that was among the most heavily armed in any navy when built.

Comptiq also publishes Sasayuki's KanColle side:Kongou manga.

In the game she's voiced by Nao Tōyama. The ship daughter's quirk is that she frequently adds English words and phrases into her dialog as a reference to her British. She's also been the star of a drama CD.

When the KanColle anime was first announced in September 2013, the planned time was this summer at the earliest. In January, Keizou Kusakawa (Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha) was introduced as the director for the Diomedea production with Jukki Hanada (Beyond the Boundary) writing series composition. The latter announcement lead to some industry watcher speculation about a switch in the project's creative team, with a potential resulting delay.

Currently, few details about the anime are official other than the involvement of Kusakawa, Hanada, Diomedea and involvement of game characters/cast Destroyer Fubuki (voiced by Sumire Uesaka), Aircraft Carrier Akagi (voiced by Saki Fujita) and Aircraft Carrier Kaga (voiced by Yuka Iguchi).
