It is officially announced today on April 30 that X Japan, one of the founders of Japanese visual-kei bands, will hold a live concert at Madison Square Garden in NYC on October 11. Back in 2008, the band planned to play their first show at the historic venue on September 13 of the year, but it was canceled due to the leader/drummer Yoshiki’s health problem, Intervertebral Disc Displacement. X Japan will be the second Japanese rock band to headline the arena following L’Arc〜en〜Ciel, who held a show on March 25, 2012. Long before that, heavy metal band Loudness played as an opening act for Mötley Crüe in August 1985. This is their first live concert since the one at IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center in Thailand on November 8, 2011.
The band will also release a new best album “THE WORLD~X JAPAN Hatsu no Zen Sekai Best~” on June 17. The first limited edition of the album comes with a 60-page photo book “X JAPAN World Tour
Selection 2009, 2010 & 2011 ” and DVD “Exclusive Trailer of X JAPAN World Tour Live 2009, 2010 & 2011.”
As reported, Yoshiki is now travelling the world for his solo tour “YOSHIKI CLASSICAL WORLD TOUR 2014″
