Staff and Voice Cast for Boys Love Anime "Hybrid Child" Announced

The official site for the upcoming anime adaptation of Shungiku Nakamura's boys love manga Hybrid Child launched today with the announcement of the main staff and voice cast. Shungiku is best known for her popular BL manga series such as Junjo Romantica (2002-) and Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi (2008-).

Hybrid Child was serialized in BiBLOS' BE×BOY GOLD (later moved to Kadokawa) from 2003 to 2004, then compiled in one volume tankobon by Kadokawa in 2005. The story revolves around a doll called "Hybrid Child" which grows reflecting the owner's affection. Kotarou Izumi, who is the 16th head of the noble Izumi family, found a hybrid child at the garbage disposal spot when he was eight years old. He has lived with the doll named Hazuki for 10 years since then. However, Kotarou learns Hazuki's life is close to the end.

50-year-old animator Michio Fukuda (Hyakko, Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan: Demon Capital) directs his

first BL anime for Studio Deen. Popular voice actor Nobuhiko Okamoto (Rin Okumura in Blue Exorcist)

voices Kotarou Izumi with Daisuke Hirakawa (Rei Ryugazaki in Free!) as Hazuki. A DVD containing an

promotional video for the anime will be bundled with the upcoming BL magazine Emerald which is

scheduled to be published in the end of August.
