22-year-old Japanese actress/karate master Rina Takeda has kicked countless guys in martial arts-themed films such as High Kick Girl! (2007), KG-Karate Girl (2011), and the latest Nuigulumar Z (2014. kicking zombies in this). Now she teams up with acclaimed tokusatsu film director Shusuke Kaneko (Heisei Gamera trilogy, Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack, Death Note) for a new sci-fi action film Danger Dolls (original Japanese title: Shoujo wa Isekai de Tatakatta/Girls fought in the different-dimension world).
The 95-minute film was world-premiered at Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival on March 1, 2014, and is now looking for international distributors at the Cannes International Film Festival. It features martial art and sword battle of four girls (Rina Takeda, Rumi Hanai, Nana Seino, Kayano), who disguise themselves as pop idols, against mysterious intruders from a different-dimension world.
