Anime director, character designer and sometimes writer Yasuomi Umetsu (Wizard Barristers, Galilei Donna) recently blogged a Japanese report on the distribution plans for the live-action adaptation of his violent crime tragedy anime Kite. With the news that the movie is likely to hit North American and Japan by the end of the year were photos Samuel L. Jackson as corrupt detective Karl Aker and India Eisley as young assassin Sawa.
Umetsu noted that he liked the look of Eisley as Sawa and that he would be assisting with the movie's promotion.
Anchor Bay, which is a subsidiary of Starz along with anime label Manga Entertainment, has picked up the US and Canadian rights for the movie.
