Bungie hires former MLG pro to work on Destiny

Bungie has hired former MLG pro Bonnie “Xena” Burton to work on the studio’s upcoming multiplayer-centric shooter, Destiny. Burton announced the news through Twitter, but there’s no word yet on what her title is at Bungie or what role she’ll play in forging Destiny.

Burton was MLG’s first female professional, joining the league at 12 years old, and rising to prominence through Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 tournaments. She was also featured on MTV’s True Life and most recently did work for G4TV and Astro Gaming.

Given her proclivity for multiplayer, we’d venture a guess to say she’s working on Destiny’s multiplayer mode, but this is not confirmed.

Bungie’s Destiny launches September 9 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4. A beta for the game goes live this summer, first on PlayStation platforms.
