The cake is accompanied by an illustrated Zaku plate, as well as a skewer reproduction of the Beam Saber wielded by Amuro Ray. The current cake is being produced as the result of requests from fans following the Char’s Zaku cake released in 2013.
Created by Aichi Prefecture-based bakery Yellow Pumpkin, the cake combines Japanese-style green tea sponge cake with coffee mousse filling. The Zaku’s “mono eye” is created with sugar craft, while its power supply pipes are made with select white bean paste and white chocolate.
The cake retails for 4,800 yen, tax included. It will be released in mid-December.
