Kadokawa's YouTube anime channel today posted the first promotional video for the upcoming TV anime adaptation of Eiki Eiki and Taishi Zaou's boys love manga Love Stage!!. It features the narrations by the two main characters: Izumi Sena (CV: Tsubasa Yonaga) and Ryoma Ichijo (Takuya Eguchi) with the OP song "LΦVEST" by SCREEN mode. The manga has been serialized in Kadokawa Shoten's boys love-themed bimonthly magazine CIEL and so far three manga tankobon have been published in Japan. A spin-off novel series Back Stage!! is also written by Eiki Eiki with Kazuki Amano, and has released three volumes.
The story centers on a 18-year-old boy Izumi Sena, who was born to a celebrity family. His father is a singer, mother is an actress, and brother is the vocalist of the super popular band Crashers. But Izumi
himself is just an ordinary otaku university student whose dream is becoming a manga artist someday.
One day, he can't refuse to appear in a TV commercial in woman's disguise without revealing his true
identity. The popular young actor who chooses Izumi for the CM is 20-year-old Ryoma Ichijyo. He acted
jointly with Izumi for a CM for only once 10 years ago and fell in love at first sight with him then.
The TV anime is produced by J.C.STAFF (Bakuman., Tantei Opera Milky Holmes) and Ken'ichi Kasai
(Aoi Hana, Bakuman.) serves as the director. It is scheduled to premiere in July.
