On March 14th, Ikebukuro theme park J-World Tokyo, based on the stories and characters featured in the Jump series of manga periodicals, will reveal its newest additions and improvements, including new areas based on series “Kuroko no Basuke”, “Gintama”, and “The Prince of Tennis”.
Featuring characters from the “Weekly Shonen Jump” and “Jump Square” periodicals, the park aims to create a world where visitors can feel like the main character in their favorite stories. The upcoming changes will increase the number of unique areas in the park from 8 to 12, supplementing the existing areas based on series such as One Piece, Naruto, and Dragon Ball with new areas based on popular series “Kuroko no Basuke”, “Gintama”, and “The Prince of Tennis”, as well as adding carnival game midway J-Carnival and multi-purpose area J-Arena.
Existing areas of the theme park have been overhauled, as well. The Dragon Ball area will reveal a Capsule Corporation section, where visitors can go hands-on with a replica Scouter and weapons created by the fictional company. At the Naruto area, the photo area will gain replicas of the famous Ramen Ichiraku and Yakiniku Q restaurants from the series, and visitors will have an opportunity to experience the spirit channeling aspect of the series for themselves. Finally, the One Piece area will add a musical performance from a guitar-toting Brook.
The theme park is open daily from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, with last entry at 9:00 PM. It will be closed for renovations from March 3rd to 13th. Admission is 1,300 yen for adults and 1,000 yen for children; park admission plus tickets for five park attractions costs 2,900 yen for adults and 2,600 yen for children.
