The official site for sexy summer swimming anime Free! has announced that the re-broadcast of the first season will start in April on ABC and BS 11 in Japan. The news was announced yesterday in Japan and got many fans speculating on the second season airing in July. THIS July, to be more precise.

Coincidentally, the Japanese Kanji character for Wednesday means "water (水)" and the water anime always occupied the broadcast schedule on Wednesdays on ABC.
Although it is not confirmed, the April re-broadcast schedule fits perfectly to lead into the second season starting in July. Back in January, a KyoAni staff member posted on her blog right after the second season announcement that she was happy that it was confirmed and said "this Summer will sure to be more exciting". So is it going to be THIS summer? Let's keep our fingers crossed!
The end card of the last episode clearly states "See you next summer" last year, when you think about it.
