Emi Takei to Star in Live-Action Adaptation Film of "Clover" Manga

It is confirmed today that a live-action adaptation film of Toriko Chiya's long-running manga Clover is set for November 1 release in Japan. The manga was serialised in Shueisha's three magazines (Bouquet, Cookie, Chorus) from 1997 to 2010. 24 tankobon volumes were published and 8.6 million copies were sold. The office-love story revolves around Saya Suzuki, an office worker at Hotel Toyo and her elite boss Susumu Tsuge. The new series with different protagonists titled Clover trèfle is now serialized in Shueisha's Cocohana (Chorus' new name after November 2011) since June 2012.


 


As the protagonist Saya, 20-year-old actress Emi Takei is teaming up again with Takeshi Furusawa, the director of her smash hit film Kyou, Koi o Hajimemasu, which was based on Kanan Minami's popualr shoujo manga series. The film was released in Japan in December 2012 and earned 1.77 billion yen (about US$17.2 million) in the Japanese box office run. 28-year-old Tadayoshi Okura, a member of


Johnny & Associates' boys idol group Kanjani Eight, plays Saya's love-interest Tsuge.
