Anison Vocal Idol Unit i☆Ris to Star in New TV Anime Series "Pri-Para"

It was officially announced yesterday on March 13 that a new TV anime series Pri-Para, which is based on Takara Tomy Arts' new arcade game of the same name, will premiere on TV Tokyo and its affiliates on July 5. The protagonist girl of the show Laala will be voiced by 19-year-old Himika Akaneya, a member of anison vocal idol unit i☆Ris. Pri-Para is said to take over the theme of the Pretty Rhythm series, which was also based on TTA's arcade game. Laala has already appeared in the currently-showing anime film Pretty Rhythm All Star Selection: Prism Show Best 10. Other five members of i☆Ris will also join the main cast and the unit will perform the OP song for the anime.


 


The Pri-Para TV anime is produced by Tatsunoko Production and Dongwoo A&E. Makoto Moriwaki, a female veteran who worked on Onegai My Melody (2005-2006), Tantei Opera Milky Holmes (2010), Jewelpet Kira Deco! (2012-2013), serves as the director. Michihiro Tsuchiya (Wagamama Fairy: Mirumo


de Pon!, MAJOR) works on series composition, while Shoji Hara (Wandaba Style, Sasami: Magical Girls


Club) designs the anime characters.
