Big news is resounding from a special Sound! Euphonium talk event that was held at the Uji City Cultural Center on June 04, 2017: not only has a new key visual been released for the upcoming Sound! Euphonium: Todoketai Melody ("The Melody I Want to Deliver") film, but two additional Sound! Euphonium films are in-development for release in 2018.
Sound! Euphonium: Todoketai Melody is directed by Tatsuya Ishihara and Taichi Ogawa and features animation by Kyoto Animation. Todoketai Melody is the 2nd Sound! Euphonium theatrical anime film, following 2016's Sound! Euphonium: Welcome to the Kitauji High School Concert Band. Todoketai Melody theaters in Japan on September 30, 2017.
The 3rd film, entitled Sound! Euphonium: Mizore to Nozomi no Monogatari ("The Story of Mizore and Nozomi"), is directed by Naoko Yamada and features animation by Kyoto Animation.
The 4th film, entitled Sound! Euphonium: 2-Nensei ni Natta Kumiko-tachi ("Kumiko and Company Who Became 2nd Year Students"), is directed by Tatsuya Ishihara and features animation by Kyoto Animation. Both new films are scheduled to be released in Japanese theaters in 2018.
