A new preview video has been published for Saboriman Kantarou, an upcoming live-action TV drama based on the manga written by Tensei Hagiwara and illustrated by Inoue ABD about a slick young office worker who constantly finds new ways to avoid work in order to indulge his taste for sugary sweets.
The original Saboriman Ametani Kantarou manga is serialized in Kodansha's Morning seinen manga magazine. The story follows Kantarou Ametani, a successful young executive who works at a publishing company. Kantarou secretly has a severe craving for sweets, and he's constantly innovating new ways to ditch out and indulge this vice. "Saboriman" is a pun combining "salaryman" with "saboru", which means to skip out on your obligations or to sabotage them with slowness.
The Saboriman Kantarou TV drama stars kabuki actor Matsuya Onoe as Kantarou Ametani and features direction by Kentarô Moriya, Yusuke Ishida, and Natsuki Takashima. The series will broadcast on TV Tokyo every Thursday at 1:00 AM JST beginning on July 13, 2017, and on BS Japan every Tuesday at 11:00PM JST beginning on July 18, 2017. Saboriman Kantarou will also be streamed on Netflix Japan beginning on January 07, 2017.
