Tokyo-based company Tokyo Gets today announced that the world's first running events inspired by the Dragon Ball anime franchise, "Dragon Ball Run," will be held in Chiba (Makuhari Seaside Park) on September 10 and in Nagoya (Aichi Rinku Beach) on September 23. The 3km run events are organized by the Dragon Ball Run Executive Committee, consisting of Toei Animation, Tokyo Gets and Sports One. Starting with this two in this year, more cities including foreign ones are also planned to be added in future.
Participation fee is 6,800 yen for adults, 3,800 yen for children, and all participants will receive a dougi/battle uniform T-shirt. The organizer will start accepting entries from July 3. In addition to running, the participants will be able to take AR photos with the Dragon Ball characters and to get limited items by collecting the seven Dragon Balls. Singer and voice actors of the anime series are also scheduled to appear.
