According to a survey conducted by the analytics firm Nielsen, one-third of current PlayStation 4 owners switched to the Sony console from Microsoft’s Xbox 360 or Nintendo’s Wii. The survey, which took place between February and April of this year, asked Americans aged 7 to 54 who were a subset of a total of 1,200 “active gamers.”
Interestingly, however, the people surveyed were only asked what console(s) they currently owned, as opposed to what they may have owned previously. This means that people who sold their PlayStation 3 in order to purchase a PlayStation 4 will have been listed as non-PlayStation 3 owners.
