It is officially announced on August 6 that Marvelous AQL's PSP game series Bakumatsu Rock is set to be adapted into a musical this December. It will be named "Cho Kageki (Ultra Musical) Bakumatsu Rock", and written/directed by Kotaro Yoshitani who previusly worked for musical adaptations of the otome game AMNESIA and Kazuhiko Shimamoto's baseball-themed manga Gyakkyou Nine. 31-year-old EX-Johnny's Jr. member Shinji Rachi plays the protagonist Ryoma Sakamoto in the musical. You can check the photos of the main cast here. The musical is scheduled to be performed at The Galaxy Theatre in Tokyo from Decmber 24 to 29.
The TV anime adaptation titled Samurai Jam -Bakumatsu Rock- is now available to Crunchyroll’s audience in the following territories: USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Latin America.
