The first chapter of the trilogy anime film project based on Shuichi Shigeno’s car-racing manga, Shin Gekijo-ban Initial D: Legend 1-Kakusei (Awakening)- finally opened simultaneously in Japan and Taiwan yesterday on August 23. It was officially confirmed that the second chapter titled Shin Gekijo-ban Initial D: Legend 2-Tousou-(“闘走 Tousou” literally means Battle Run) will hit Japanese theaters in early summer of 2015. In addition to Taiwan, five more Asian countries are scheduled to release the first chapter soon: Hong Kong, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Singapore. The film’s distributor has been negotiating with more countries in the world.
