Avex has posted a short version promotional video for a new version of "Odoru Pompokolin" performed by popular Japanese girls group E-girls. The song is well-known as the theme song for the long-running TV anime Chibi Maruko-chan. It was originally performed by B.B.Queens as their 1st single and released in April 1990. It sold 1.9 million units in Japan and has been recognized as one of the most popular anime theme songs.
The 27-member unit E-girls' "Odoru Pompokolin" will be released as their 10th single in Japan on August 14. The PV features the members travelling around the world on the four seasons-themed colorful Pompoko Train. Their version has already been used in the anime's OP featuring the anime character versions of Ami, Karen Fujii, Reina Washio, and Yuzuna Takebe, since the 954th episode aired on May 4.
