Moe Temple Ryohoji in Tokyo to Release Toro Benten-zou Figure

As reported several times in the past, Ryohoji, a Buddhist temple in Hachiouji, Tokyo, has been known for its various business activities featuring moe-style female characters, including colorful signboards, theme songs with their anime PVs, radio programs, social games, and cosplay events. It is often called as "Moe Temple" by the media.

The temple's latest item is a 1/8 scale figure of its mascot character Toro Benten. The model of the girl is Benzaiten, one of the Buddhist goddesses who is in charge of entertainment and music. The 21cm-tall figure is modeled after the bigger statue named "Toro Benten-zou" which is actually dedicated to the temple. The price is 12,960 yen (about US$120) and online pre-orders have been already begun at Japanese retailers. What's the next for them?
