Compilation Film "Yowamushi Pedal: Re:RIDE" Earns 50 Million Yen in 3 Days

It is officially confirmed that Yowamushi Pedal Re:Ride, the compilation film of the 38-episode 1st TV anime series based on Wataru Watanabe's road bicycle racing-themed manga, earned an impressive 50 million yen on 36,000 ticket sales in three days from its release on September 19. The film has gotten a limited two-week run in 10 selected theaters ahead of the broadcast of the TV anime 2nd season Yowamushi Pedal: Grande Road, which is scheduled to premiere on October 6.

According to Akiba Souken's report, all of the screenings on Friday at Ikebukuro Humax Cinemas, one of the 10 theaters in Tokyo, were sold out, though it was still a weekday. Because of this huge success, the theater has decided to hold a special onstage event on September 27 featuring the four voice actors of the Hakone Academy students: Tomoaki Maeno (Juichi Fukutomi), Hiroyuki Yoshino (Yasutomo Arakita), Atsushi Abe (Touichirou Izumida), and Tsubasa Yonaga (Sangaku Manami). The limited run

of the film will be ended on October 2.
